Carbin Reef is another must see destination in Negros Occidental. It is located in Sagay City, about 2 hours ride from Bacolod-Silay Airport. Carbin Reef is a tongue-shape white sandbar located at the center of 32,000 hectare Sagay Marine Reserve. Wide array of underwater species can be found here such as schools of fishes, blooming coral formations and sporadic turtles. When you are on the sandbar, there is nothing so special except the white sand and its blue sea water but below this surface in an astonishing beauty of nature.

Swimming and snorkeling is the best activities that you can enjoy in Carbin Reef. Diving is not allowed due to shallow water however there are limitations in coming to the reef, oftentimes tourist is allowed to visit the place at around 3-4pm depending on the wind activity and tide conditions. The reef is not available to visit during high tide but can accommodate around 100 persons when low tide hence it is best to contact the Sagay City Tourism before coming to this place

How much will it cost to come to Carbin Reef?

Regardless of the airfare or ferry fare from Manila, the bus fare from Bacolod to Sagay is around 100 php or $2.5 per person and from Sagay you need to rent a boat going to Carbin Reef. The rent of boat round trip is between $15 – $20 or 1,000php – 1700php. The entrance fee is only 20php  and the rent of kayak is 100 php .
